You Gotta Have a Plan!

It's that time of year again! The time when we start to think about New Year's resolutions, when we pull out a new bible reading plan in preparation for the coming year. I like what one lady said, "This year I'm not going to make New Year's Resolutions, I'm going to make promises!" One thing I do know for sure, if you aim at nothing you will hit it every time! I like what one boy aiming at the moon with a bb gun told a pessimistic old man who told him he was never going to hit it, "Well, Mister, I'll get a lot closer than you ever will!" That's a good way to think of New Year's Resolutions. We may miss our goal, but we will come a lot closer if we aim at something! This year I am aiming at reading my bible through chronologically. This is not the first time I've read my bible through this way, but it is definitely my favorite! I love seeing how Psalm corresponds to the Kings, Chronicles, and Samuels and how the Epistles correspond to Acts. I'm going to do a journal this year to help keep me accountable.  Here are some links to some documents I've created to help me:

Journalling Pages for Chronological Bible Reading Plan

S.P.E.C.K.S. (6 things to look for as you read your passage, this helps keep me engaged while reading)

I hope you plan on reading your bible in a systematic way to help keep you accountable. Whether you do this or something else, aim at reading your bible and will do a lot more than if you have no plan!
